#UNIVB Road Report – High Flying at WSU, MSU

When the UNI Panther volleyball team travels to Wichita State and Missouri State each season, the Panthers fly their way through this important Missouri Valley Conference road trip. UNI also rose above the competition this week with a pair of hard-earned wins to tie Illinois State for first place at 5-0 in MVC action. Since this yearly trip is one of just a couple of plane trips each season, here’s a look at the schedule that the Panthers were on…

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3 – @ Wichita State
7:40am – Departure from UNI campus or Livingston Aviation, Waterloo
8:15am – Wheels up in Waterloo
10:00am – Wheels down at Yingling Aviation, Wichita, KS
10:45am – Arrival at Towne East Square Mall (a chance for everyone in the travel party to do two important things – walk around and shop!)
12:40pm – Lunch at McAlister’s Deli (menu)
1:50pm – Check-in at Spring Hill Suites (time to allow players to sleep (a few rooms booked), study, snack, relax, and prepare)
4:15pm – Arrival at Charles Koch Arena (pre-match preparations include 30-minute “serve and pass,” meetings, and warmups)
7:00pm – National anthem – time for Panthers versus Shockers!
8:53pm – Panthers win 3-1 after Shocker service error!!!
9:50pm – Arrival at Texas Roadhouse (menu) to collect take-out dinner
10:30pm – Wheels up in Wichita, KS
11:20pm – Wheels down at General Aviation Complex, Springfield, MO
11:55pm – Check-in at Greenstay Hotel & Suites

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4 – @ Missouri State
7-10:00am – Free breakfast available at hotel
11:30am – Arrival at Battlefield Mall (more walking around and shopping along with lunch at either a restaurant or the food court)
1:50pm – Return to Greenstay Hotel & Suites (another chance to sleep, study, snack, and relax)
4:30pm – Team meeting at hotel prior to departure (Panthers have second “serve and pass” session at arena)
5:15pm – Arrival at John Q. Hammons Student Center (“serve and pass,” pre-game meeting, warmups included before start)
7:00pm – National anthem – time for Panthers versus Bears!
9:07pm – Panthers win 3-2 after Bear service error!!!
9:55pm – Arrival at Applebee’s (menu) to collect take-out dinner
10:45pm – Wheels up in Springfield, MO

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5
12:20am – Wheels down in Waterloo
12:45pm – Arrival on campus, just over 41 hours after initial trip departure

Following a pair of road victories to remain unbeaten in conference play, the Panthers will host the Evansville Purple Aces on Friday and the Southern Illinois Salukis on Saturday.
