No Rima Reason – UNI Football Hosts Tennessee Tech – Did You Know?

NEARLY PERFECT: After winning the home opener to the season last week UNI football is now 13-1 under Coach Farley in home openers.

HAPPY HOMECOMING: UNI football is now 62-25-7 in homecoming games since 1920. UNI has won 21 of its last 26 homecoming contests in the UNI Dome.

DEFENSE, DEFENSE: UNI is 81-6 in the Mark Farley Era when holding its opponents to 20 points or less.

SCORING IS GOOD: Under Coach Farley UNI football is 71-6 when scoring 30 or more points.

NEWBIE: Tennessee Tech is the second team UNI will play this year that the Panthers have never faced before. The other team was Hawai’i.

HOME SWEET DOME: UNI’s record all time in the UNI Dome is 191-49-1. That is a winning percentage of 79.2%.

OH THE OVC: Tennessee Tech is a member of The Ohio Valley Conference which is a Division 1 FCS league. UNI is 17-7-1 against the current members of the OVC. They have played Eastern Illinois the most. UNI is 15-6-1 vs EIU. UNI is also 1-0 against both Jacksonville State and Murray State and 0-1 versus Eastern Kentucky.

THE BEAST: David Johnson is number 5 on the all time list at UNI for career all purpose yards. DJ has 4,866 all purpose yards after amassing 534 so far this year in his first 3 games.

MORE BEAST: David Johnson is now in fourth place all by himself in the UNI record books for career rushing touchdowns. With his 41 yard touchdown run against Northern Colorado David now has 33 rushing TD’s. Including touchdown passes David has scored 46 touchdowns in his career now at UNI.

NOT BEING OFFENSIVE: In three games this year Tennessee Tech has scored 7 touchdowns but only 4 are offensive touchdowns. They have two rushing TD’s and two passing TD’s. They also have 2 punt returns for touchdowns and 1 pick 6.

Watson Brown is currently in his 8th year as the head coach of the Golden Eagles and recently was given a contract extension that keeps him in Cookeville, Tn through the 2019 season.
